The Stool 56 is crafted from a single piece of aluminum and shaped into its final form through a precise bending process. First, the material is stamped according to the cutting pattern. It is then formed in two controlled bending steps using a hydraulic die. The seat surface is smoothly curved upward in a continuous motion, while a precise 90-degree bend at the base ensures stability and a secure stance. Thanks to this manufacturing method, no joints, welds, or additional fasteners are required. This minimizes material usage, increases durability, and results in a seamless, clear design language. The construction remains not only lightweight and stable but also free of unnecessary additional components. After shaping, the aluminum undergoes a multi-step finishing process: it is first deburred, then smoothed with fine wet sandpaper (grit 500), and finally refined with a non-woven abrasive pad. This treatment ensures a uniform surface while also giving the material a subtle texture. By focusing on cutting, bending, and finishing, the object optimizes material use, production efficiency, and surface refinement, resulting in a precise OBJECT.
